Download & Install
- Download VoiceVibe for macOS from the download page
- Open the .dmg file
- Drag VoiceVibe to your Applications folder
- First launch: Open VoiceVibe from Applications. If macOS shows a first-launch security prompt, use Open or Open Anyway only for the installer downloaded from voicevibe.ai.
Grant Permissions
VoiceVibe needs these permissions to work properly:
| Permission | Why It's Needed | When Prompted |
|---|---|---|
| Accessibility | Global keyboard shortcuts | On first launch |
| Microphone | Voice input | On first recording |
| Screen Recording | Screenshot features (Pro) | When using screenshot modes |
| Automation | Typing into other apps | On first text insertion |
How to grant permissions:
- When prompted, click "Open System Settings"
- In Privacy & Security, find the permission category
- Check the box next to VoiceVibe
- You may need to unlock the padlock first
Test Voice Typing
- Open any app with a text field (Notes, TextEdit, browser, etc.)
- Press and hold Right Ctrl (⌃)
- Speak clearly: "Hello, this is a test"
- Release the key
- Your text should appear!
If the first test sounds wrong or misses words, check your system microphone input. Make sure the correct input device is selected, reduce background noise, and adjust the input level so your voice is clear but not clipping. Restart VoiceVibe after changing audio settings.
Default shortcut: Right Ctrl (⌃) — customizable in Settings

- Run the .exe installer
- If Windows SmartScreen appears, click More info, then Run anyway. This can happen while a new Windows app builds download reputation.

Permissions
Windows typically handles permissions automatically:
| Permission | Status |
|---|---|
| Microphone | Granted automatically or prompted on first use |
| Keyboard access | No special permission needed |
| Screen capture | May show notification on first use |
Note: Windows Defender may briefly scan VoiceVibe on first run. This is normal. If SmartScreen appears during install, use More info → Run anyway only for the installer downloaded from voicevibe.ai.
